About Leif Becker

Leif Becker is one of the most recognized Martial Artists of breaking in the world today and author of Breaking Barriers: Your Guide to Personal Mastery. He travels both nationally and internationally on a regular basis working with individuals of all ages and abilities.

He has been featured worldwide for his breaking ability and holds the world record as the Fastest Breaker in the World; breaking 487 boards in one minute with one hand. Leif Becker understands the importance of developing oneself to their fullest potential. In 1996, Leif received his Black Belt in Tang Soo Do. In 1998 he founded Southbury Karate Academy in Connecticut, developing it into the premier training studio that it is today.

In 2003, Leif began his journey for a World Record title. Over the next four years, Leif continued to train as a professional athlete to develop the skills and mindsets to create success on some of the largest platforms in the country. A journey that began in his home state of Connecticut soon directed him to New York City appearing on the Late Show with David Letterman, and later to Hollywood California on his quest to be a World Champion. Leif Becker successfully reached World Record Status by breaking 487 boards in one minute with one hand at Universal Studios in Hollywood, California.

In 2008, Leif became a multiple world record holder by setting a world record for the most boards broken in 10 seconds- 140 total. Since achieving World Record status, Leif has traveled the world sharing his passion for the martial arts as well as Peak Performance Training. Amateurs and professionals alike have had the opportunity to work with Leif and learn the important mindset skills it takes to become a champion. Leif continues to speak on a national level and continuously strives to advance his professional credentials.

In addition to his focus on the martial arts, Leif has volunteered many summers to being a part of the Fresh Air Fund. New York's Fresh Air Fund is an organization that has been giving inner city children the joy of a summer vacation with volunteer host families. Having received his fifth degree black belt in Tang Soo Do, Leif remains very active in the martial arts field. Leif's latest TV appearance was Spike's Deadliest Warrior Season 3 finale.

Leif is currently training daily for the upcoming World Record attempt. Leif is to connect each board to barriers facing kids today. "It isn't about just breaking boards," says Becker. "It is about the opportunity to listen to and address children's needs in a way that has never been done before."
